About

The Law & Justice Foundation (LJF) is a non-profit, non-partisan, non-religious, and independent human rights membership organization established in 2011 and legally registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860 (Reg. No. S-11327) in Bangladesh. Guided by the motto “Equal Justice For All,” LJF works nationwide to advance human rights, strengthen rule of law, and expand access to justice—especially for underserved and marginalized communities.

LJF’s network includes 1,500+ members—lawyers, jurists, law students, paralegals, researchers, and allied professionals—who contribute pro bono time, technical expertise, and community leadership. Our work spans legal aid and pro bono services, public legal education, strategic research and documentation, capacity development, communications and advocacy, and partnership-driven program delivery.

History & Founders

Founded in 2011 by a group of lawyers, jurists, academics, and human rights advocates, LJF emerged to connect communities with the legal ecosystem and make justice practical, approachable, and affordable. From early free legal advice clinics and school-based legal education, LJF grew into a national platform engaging volunteer lawyers, paralegals, and law students in sustained community service.

Legal Status: Registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860 (Reg. No. S-11327) as a charitable, not-for-profit organization.
Membership: 1,500+ active and inactive members across Bangladesh, contributing to research, outreach, and case support.
Approach: Community-rooted programming backed by documentation, strategic litigation support, advocacy, and partnerships.
